Create and Use Dynamic Lists

Create and Use Dynamic Lists

Pivot already let users sort candidates by all sorts of filters such as location, job title, or application date. With dynamic lists, you can save those filters and use them to make dynamic lists.

What's a Dynamic List?

Dynamic lists give you a way to automatically build lists of candidates, applications, links and deliveries based on meeting criteria you design. Dynamic lists are created by filtering in any of Pivot's grid views and saving the filter. Dynamic lists are easy to create and can be used to:

Share lists with a colleague
Manage your workflow
Trigger automation
Route incoming candidates from one team to another

Let’s say you want to build a list of junior developer candidates in Indianapolis, Indiana. You therefore set your dynamic list to include anyone who has the word "Indianapolis" as their city and "Developer" in their job tite. Whenever a candidate meets the criteria for the list (for example, they both live in Indianapolis and also have developer in their job title), they are automatically included in the list. The moment they no longer meet it, (their city is no longer Indianapolis), then they are removed from the list. You can use dynamic lists to track in real-time people who have applied to a certain position, live in a certain city, or come from a particular job board for example and sent them relevant messaging.

How to Make a Dynamic List

You can make dynamic lists in the candidates tab, the messages tab, or the applies tab. In this example, we'll be making a list in the candidates' tab.

1. Navigate to the Candidates tab.
2. Sort your candidates by the desired filter for your list (this could be a specfic job title, a location, or an application date for example).
3. Once the list is sorted, click on the Actions button at the top and select "Create Dynamic List with current filters".
4. Your filter view will then be saved as a "Saved Filter" as well as a Dynamic List you can view later in the Lists tab.

How to Manage Dynamic Lists

1. You can view your lists in the lists tab. They will appear towards the bottom of your lists and be marked with the lightning symbol.
2. When you click into the list, you can also view the rules used to create the dynamic list as well as directly open the list in the candidates view tab.

2. Click on "+New Blast" button in the header menu
3. Select "Dynamic List" and then select the desired list.
4. Give your blast a title, message and time to schedule it out.
