Creating a Blast

Creating a Blast

What is a blast in PivotCX?

A blast is a single text message sent out to a list of contacts. You can schedule your blast to go out at a specific time, or you can send it out immediately.

How to create a Blast?

  1. Choose a list or create a list of candidates you want to message.

  2. In the List Detail view, click on the “Blasts” button.

The blasts view will show a list of previous blasts sent to the current list. If none have been sent previously, the grid will be empty.

  1. Click on the “+” or the “Create a blast” button.

  2. In the New Blast view, choose a name for your new blast (to make it easier, we like to give it the same name as the list’s name).

  3. Schedule it, or check the box to “Send immediately.”

If scheduling, choose a date and time in the future.

  • Remember to be conscious of different time zones. Due to regulations, candidates should not receive messages outside of business hours in their timezone.

  1. When finished, click on submit.

How to Check Metrics

Click the arrow next to "Advanced" on the left-hand panel, and click "Blasts"

On this page, you can view the following:

  • Blast status (whether the system sent the message, it is scheduled, or it is processing).

  • The date it was sent.

  • The exact message sent out to your candidates.

  • How many contacts received the message.

  • The number of messages in the queue or if any failed to send.

  • How many people responded to the message.

  • Whether anybody opted out of receiving messages.

If the blast has not gone out, you can edit the name, the message, and the send date. To make changes, you can click on the name of the blast; alternatively, click the paper and pencil icon. Follow steps 4, 5, and 6 to apply your changes.
